How close are the Palau Beach Bungalows to the International Airport?
It takes about 20 minutes to drive to Melekeok from the International Airport which is located in the state of Airai. The main town of Koror is about 30-40 minutes away.
Do you offer transportation to and from the airport and to Koror?
We can offer an airport transfer by one of our family members for a fee. However we recommend that you rent a car to enjoy all the cultural and historical sites on the big island of Babeldaob. There are several rental agencies in Koror that will bring your car to the airport if you reserve it in advance. Please email us if you would like assistance with transportation.
What if I want to go diving or visit the Rock Islands?
Palau’s tour operators are based in the main town of Koror, about 30-40 minutes by car from Melekeok. We can help you arrange transportation to town if you want to join a tour, or provide contact info for rental car companies.
What kind of meal service is offered?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner of delicious Palauan specialties may be ordered from the family next door to the bungalows, with 24-hour advance notice. American/international and vegetarian meals can also be provided.
Each bungalows has a small kitchenette, so you can cook your own meals if you prefer. There is a small village store and a beach-side restaurant within walking distance, or you can shop for groceries in town.
Do we need to pay an advance deposit?
No deposit is required but please do let us know in advance if your plans change.
Do you accept credit cards?
No, payments must be made in cash (US dollars).
What is the check-in and check-out time?
We are flexible about the check-in and check-out time. Just inform us in advance of your arrival details and we'll do our best to assist you.
How many people can stay in one bungalow?
We recommend no more than 3 people in one bungalow (or two adults and two children). Three of the units have a double bed in the bedroom and one has a single bed. All four have a single bed in the living room. An extra futon is available upon request (at no additional charge).
